Description
I am pleased to offer from my private collection this museum-quality and exceptionally rare royal presentation pocket watch, crafted by Maison Leemans, Brussels, circa 1900’s. This exquisite timepiece was specially commissioned for Belgium Royal Court, featuring a high-relief chased silver case adorned with the Belgian Royal Coat of Arms, crowned lion rampant, and ornate floral motifs. The dial features a fine portrait of King Leopold II in full military regalia, executed in deep blue tones, making this an outstanding example of Belgian royal commemorative horology. The elegant Roman numeral dial includes subsidiary seconds at 6 o’clock with original ornate gold hands. The inner cuvette is engraved: “Maison Leemans – Concours de 1913 – Prix de Tir du Gouvernement – Remporté par A. Gaspard – 15 Place de Brouckère, Bruxelles” indicating this watch was later awarded as a prestigious prize in a government shooting competition in 1913. Features: • Maker: Maison Leemans, Brussels • Circa: 1900’s • Material: Solid silver (high-relief chased case) • Dial: Enamel with portrait of King Leopold II • Movement: High-quality lever movement (not opened, assumed original) • Engraving: Government prize inscription, 1913 • Diameter: 51 mm • Condition: Excellent antique condition with minor age-related wear, fully original, unpolished patina.
