exceptional and historically significant antique Fabergé presentation tobacco box, crafted around 1896 to commemorate the coronation of Tsar Nicholas II and Empress Alexandra.
This rare piece was produced by Fabergé’s renowned workmaster Julius Rappoport, celebrated for his mastery in silverwork and for creating many of Fabergé’s most important imperial gifts.
The lid features a beautifully executed enamel miniature portrait of the imperial couple in full coronation regalia, surrounded by an ornate silver border with intricate applied foliate decoration. The craftsmanship is unmistakably of the highest Fabergé standard.
