I am pleased to offer from my private collection this RARE antique Verge Fusee desk clock ,made for the Imperial Rus Court of Empress Cathrine II The Great c1769.

The clock is in form of the silver Easter Egg mounted in the gilt Royal Coach. The egg opens to reveal a fine enamel dial with original luxry hands. The egg is hand engraved and decorated with the personal monogram of Empress Catherine II “E II”,beneath the royal crown and decorated with natural Garnet precious stones. The back side of the egg is engraved in Cyrillic translated as ” in memory of 50 years service 1719-1769″ The coach has a functional wheels so it can move-see the video above.

The clock has a high grade hand made full plate fire gilt Verge Fusee movement with hand piercede balance cock,silver regulator disc,fancy square pillars,worm tension winding gear.

All the parts original.Nothing has been ever changed or replaced or repaired in this clock!

A real museum piece.

Perfect working order (do not expect a quartz accuracy from 250 years old movement) A matching key included. Hallmarked with 84 silver hallmark,with the assay master’s hallmark with the year 1769 and with the city hallmark of St.George.
