I am pleased to offer from my private collection this rare antique 18th Century Verge Fusee pair silver cases pocket watch,made by the famous British watch master Eardley Norton,London.

The watch is very rare because it comes with the original luxury leather display presentation case! 99.99% of all verge fusee watches from that era comes without the original cases!

The watch has a solid silver pair cases.

Fine enamel fancy dial with Ottoman numbers depicting a portrait of Sultan Abdulmecid I. Original hands and original high domed crystal. All the parts original!

Amazing fire gilt verge fusee movement with hand pierced balance cock depicting grotesque faces,silver regulator disc,blue steel screws,fancy square pillars,Diamond endstone on balance! Signed and numbered.

Perfect working order.(do not exept a precision time keeping from 250 years old watch. It is a collectors piece,not a daily time keeper)

It comes with a matching key.

History:

English watch and chronometer maker
Eardley Norton was born in 1740 and was based in London. From 1762 he was a member of the Clockmakers Company and ran a workshop at 49 St. John St. Clerdenwell, London. He mainly manufactured watch, marine chronometer and pocket watch of normal to highest quality. In 1771 he received an English patent. For George III he made a royal watch collection, the showpiece of which was an astronomical watch with four dials. Norton then received £ 1,042 for these watches - a considerable sum at that time. Another notable work is the music clock that he made for Russian Tsarina Catherine.
Eardley Norton died in 1794.
