Description
This exquisite 53mm silver Breguet a Paris Verge Fusee pocket watch is a stunning example of French horology from the early 19th century. The watch features a Quarter Repeating complication, which, when the pendant is depressed, audibly strikes the hours and the number of quarters past the hour on tuned internal wire gongs.
The Movement
The gilt-brass Verge Fusee movement is a testament to the era’s craftsmanship, featuring a finely pierced and engraved balance bridge. It has been professionally inspected and is in full working order, keeping time and repeating with a clear, resonant tone. The inner dust cover (cuvette) is elegantly engraved “Breguet à Paris, No. 4074.”
