Antique Ottoman Gilt Silver & Enamel Pocket Watch Signed: G.S. Hourmouziades & Cie, Constantinople Circa: Late 19th Century Diameter: 48mm Includes: Matching Gilt Chain Fob and Key An exquisite and rare Ottoman-era full hunter pocket watch, crafted in gilt silver (hallmarked 0.800) and richly adorned with an enamel scene of the iconic Sultan Ahmed Mosque (Blue Mosque) in Istanbul. This exceptional enamel work is preserved beneath the front cover, showcasing the architectural grandeur and artistry of the Ottoman Empire. The white enamel dial is signed “G.S. Hourmouziades & Cie – Constantinople”, a known retailer active in the region, and features fine black Roman numerals with outer Arabic minute divisions, blued steel spade hands, and a subsidiary seconds dial. The movement is beautifully engineered and marked “Kieusse Chirketi” in both Latin and Arabic script, with precision mechanical components housed in a well-constructed gilt silver case. The movement and case are both stamped with the same oval mark, indicating the manufacturer’s authenticity. Accompanied by its original matching gilt chain and winding key, this piece is not only a functional timekeeper but also a remarkable relic of Ottoman horological history.
