This magnificent piece combines masterful silversmithing with high-karat gold and exceptional precious gemstones. Designed as a functional locket or pill box, the silver egg opens on a secure hinge.

This specific piece boasts remarkable historical provenance: it was created for the cabinet of Empress Alexandra. The front of the pendant is adorned with an absolutely breathtaking, approximately 2.00 carat natural oval-cut emerald, which is securely prong-set in 18k solid gold and topped with a sparkling natural diamond.

• Maker: Fabergé. The solid gold suspension bail is clearly stamped with the Cyrillic maker’s mark “КФ” (Karl Fabergé) alongside the standard “72”  hallmark, which indicates 18k solid gold purity.

• Gemstones: One large natural emerald (~2ctw) and one accent diamond.

• Exterior: The front of the smooth wooden box is adorned with the applied, intertwined personal gold monogram of Empress Alexandra, situated beneath an Imperial Crown. It is secured by authentic brass hinges and a detailed front clasp.

• Interior: The interior features a fitted velvet bed to hold the pendant perfectly in place. The silk-lined inner lid is proudly stamped with the Imperial double-headed eagle warrant and the name “К. ФАБЕРЖЕ” in Cyrillic.
