I am pleased to offer from my private collection this extremely rare antique presentation sterling silver lever CHRONOMETER pocket watch in excellent/mint original condition! This amazing masterpiece has been made by J.W.Benson-by warrant to Her Majesty the Queen. Benson was personal watch maker to Queen Victoria and later to King George V. The watch has an amazing solid sterling silver case. Fine enamel dial depicting a portrait of King George V. The watch is really impressive-136g heavy ,52mm in diameter.
The watch has absolutely breathtaking highest grade lever CHRONOMETER 3/4 plate gilt movement with HELICAL hairspring spiral,compensating bymetal balance with solid gold screw weights,maximum jewels,natural Ruby endstone on balance,Chaton in gold settings,blue steel screws. The watch is in perfect working order.
The watch has been made specially for the Cabinet of King George V and has been awarded to the Russ. diplomat Mr.Sergey Dmitriyevich Sazonov. The watch comes from Sazonov’s family estate.
The watch comes with the luxury presentation box.
