The Memento Mori Case & Pendant Housed in a substantial 45mm x 26mm solid silver case with a deep, rich 18k gold gilding (vermeil), the repoussé work on the case back is nothing short of breathtaking . The high-relief casting features a central skull crowned with a banner bearing the inscription “MEMENTO MORI” (“Remember you must die”). Above the skull, a finely scaled serpent intertwines, symbolizing eternity and rebirth. Two additional skulls flank the centerpiece, while the base depicts an open coffin revealing a full skeleton.
