The thematic execution of this clock leans heavily into the Memento Mori tradition—a reflection on mortality that was highly favored among military elites.

• The Case: The heavily gilded bronze egg rests securely atop three stylized artillery bullets, which in turn stand upon a stepped triangular plinth. A hinged mechanism seamlessly opens the top half of the egg to reveal the concealed clock face.
