The spoon was entirely hand-crafted by Fabergé’s illustrious head workmaster, Erik Kolin (hallmarked “EK”). Kolin is renowned for his impeccable revivalist styles and foundational contributions to the Fabergé firm’s early success.

• The Bowl: The reverse of the fig-shaped bowl is masterfully decorated with deep, royal blue transparent guilloche enamel. The mesmerizing engine-turned waves beneath the enamel are overlaid with an exquisite, hand-applied gold foliate branch and floral motif.

• The Handle: Cast in the Neo-Renaissance taste, the heavy handle features deeply chased, intricate relief work. The terminal is crowned with a striking classical portrait mask framed by ornate scrollwork, garlands, and architectural elements.

The royal blue guilloche enamel is pristine, retaining its deep, glass-like transparency with no chips, cracks, or restorations. The 18k gold vermeil remains remarkably rich and vibrant, showing minimal handling wear. The crispness of the relief casting on the handle and the hallmarks is outstanding. The original presentation box shows age-appropriate exterior wear to the fabric covering, as expected for a piece of this vintage, but the hinge and clasp function perfectly, and the Imperial monogram is fully intact.
