This miniature masterpiece is hand-crafted from solid silver and lavishly decorated utilizing the meticulous niello technique. Designed as a chatelaine accessory, the teardrop-shaped bottle features an attached silver chain that connects the domed stopper to a beautifully scalloped suspension clip, allowing it to be worn on a lady’s belt or garment.

The flask exhibits breathtaking artistry on both sides. The front features densely intertwined, hand-engraved scrolling foliage deeply set with black niello enamel. The reverse side boasts a prominent central shield bearing the elegantly engraved personalized monogram “E.A.”, surrounded by bold niello script, indicating its prestigious regional origin.

During the late 19th century, the Caucasus region was globally renowned for its master silversmiths who perfected the ancient art of niello—a complex process where a black metallic alloy is fused into intricately engraved silver channels at high temperatures.
